We’re looking for artists & writers to join us in the making of a publication marking 5 years of Common Ground, and 5 years since Angela Merkel’s statement “Wir schaffen das”. And we have a budget to make it happen!
Part 1 of the publication is intended for sharing experiences of people who arrived in Berlin as refugees or asylum seekers. We’re particularly interested in the perspectives of students, alumni, and people who plan to study at UdK; but also perspectives of creatives outside of the university.
Part 2 is planned as a space for artistic & written contributions with a socially engaged approach. Bring your ideas or finished works that fit well within the thematic span. Keywords: migration, displacement, exile, detention, quarantine, territory, home, body, borders, liminality, belonging, (dis)integration, (de)colonisation, dehumanisation, othering, (anti)racism, (mis)representation, (hyper)visibility.
Part 3 is undefined – it should come up through our exchange of ideas. We want this to be a collaborative project where everyone can express their vision.
>>> Send us your pitches, ideas, or finished writings and/or artworks until 16.08. Or just get in touch & introduce yourself if you see yourself fit for this project (CV / portfolio / work samples are an advantage). You should be able to contribute between 17.08. – 01.10.
